Mommy-and-Me Galentine’s Brunch

I had the pleasure of hosting a Mommy-and-Me Galentine’s Brunch for my daughters’ BFFs and their moms this past Valentine’s season. I am so lucky she picked friends with awesome parents! How did she do it?

Here are some pictures and small bits of information from the event that might give you inspiration for Valentine seasons to come.

CHEERS!

The tablescape turned out absolutely adorable! The red and pink heart garland I simply placed around a vase of flowers in the center of the table. I had chocolate candies on one side of the centerpiece and pink macaroons on the other side in small delicate dishes. There were four moms so four place settings worked perfectly. Honestly, we didn’t really sit at the table because we were busy chatting at the kitchen island and hanging with the girls (trying to get cute pictures of them!)

Place settings included shot glasses with a pink sprinkle rim, Kate Spade water glasses with a heart straw, a wine glass with a rock candy stir bar, pink heart placemats from Home Goods, and valentine-themed small plates from Home Goods as well. I used paper napkins with hearts and included a heart sucker for fun. TIP: to get the sprinkles to stick to the rim, simply use a paper towel and gently wipe the rim with a sticky syrup. After that, dunk the rim in the sprinkles. OOMPH la-la!

The girls needed something fun to do while we had “mom” time. :) So, CRAFT ACTIVITY! I laid out some blank pink greeting cards for the girls to make valentine cards for their dads and whoever else they wanted to make one for! I included stickers, felt hearts, foam hearts, and a random assortment of red and pink craft items I found in my crafting area at home. Stickers are great for younger kids that can’t quite master the glue technique yet. Hobby lobby is great a few weeks prior to any holiday as you can get tons of items for half off (or more!).

Brunch food and drink… There are so many options! I wanted to stick with the Valentine theme and so I opted for funfetti pancakes - kid and adult friendly! The funfetti pancake tower with cupcakes, fruit, broken up strawberry pop tarts, and Valentine M&M’s won the cuteness overload award! SO much OOMPH in one picture!

Another great option would have been heart-shaped waffles, but time didn’t allow for those this go around. My daughter wanted a red fruit tray, so, DONE! I got strawberries and raspberries then dipped them in milk chocolate. Afterward, I drizzed white chocolate on top! So easy, but looks expensive. Again, cuteness overload! AND, since Valentine’s day is all about goodies galore guilt-free, so we got some pink macaroons (Home Goods find), and cupcakes. Cute and simple!

Soooo, have you ever heard that brunch without alcohol is just breakfast? I had a spread of various wine options – 3 pink roses for Valentine’s day! One drink/dessert I’ve always wanted to try is a sprinkle-rim drink. For the girls, I made some strawberry milk (just milk and strawberry syrup) and lined the rim of the glass with red sprinkles. Sooooo cute! PS: The moms liked the strawberry milk, too.

For the girls to take home, I had a Valentine bucket full of goodies for each of them! I can’t even remember what all I put in there, but for sure heart stickers, a red pencil, snap bracelet, heart notebook with mini pen, and probably too much candy! I remember I made the mistake of not making each pail identical… We all know how that goes…

I hope this inspires you in some way whether its for Valentine seasons to come or another celebration! There’s always a reason to celebrate!
